This is the transcription of the diary of Calla Louise King, a teacher from the Sidney, NY area. She was writing in 1917-18. I will be transcribing an entry or two every day or so and posting them here along with scans of the pages until I have completed the entire diary and all of the supporting material and ephemera that is included inside. Read the story of my decision to do this here.
Thurs. May 16, 1918 Perfect Weather. Lilacs in bloom. Drilled play after school. After super, I put out my gladiolas, father spaded up the place. My pansies are pretty. Tonight I’m going to bed early.
